In the upcoming release, Bittersweet Alliance, she wrecks havoc on the Big Island but gets into trouble with the boss, Seamus McGinn, who escaped from prison. Vivienne goes off-grid, and McGinn tries to kill her. Vivienne's boyfriend, Timothy, comes to her aid.
Excerpt from Bittersweet Alliance, coming soon:
Crouched next to her was Seamus. A snarl curled his lips.
His pale blue eyes turned dark with loathing. Hatred distorted his features,
making him almost unrecognizable.
“Where am I?” Her voiced sounded gruff.
He tilted his head and studied her, as if considering his
words. “I have a surprise for you.”
Overcome with foreboding terror, her body shook, and her
teeth chattered. Unbridled tears streamed down her face as her brain screamed
that he’d kill her.
“Don’t cry. Want to know where we are?”
“No.” She choked a sob. No doubt existed in her mind that
she’d get away from him alive. She snapped her eyes shut.
Grabbing her hands, he yanked her to her feet. “Look down
there. See the pit?” he whispered in a sinister voice. “I heard you know all about
Hawaiian customs.”
She opened her eyes to slits and spotted Timothy coming
up behind Seamus. One thing she knew about Timothy, he came up with foolproof
plans to save her from Seamus’s wrath. Every time.
Timothy turned his head to search the surrounding area.
Was he looking for something to use as a weapon? Maybe a stick or a crowbar to
defend them?
In silence, Vivienne exchanged glances with him.
Grabbing her hands, he yanked her to her feet. “Look down
there. See how deep it is?” he whispered in a sinister voice.
She opened her eyes to slits and peered downward. The
fire pit’s original use centered on festivals, dug deep but free from ground
water. At present-day luau party games, the pit showcased physical strength.
After yelling, ‘Get coconutty’, locals threw coconuts at each other to bump
them into the pit. A second passed. Timothy coming up behind Seamus. One thing
she knew about Timothy, he came up with foolproof plans to save her from
Seamus’s wrath.
Timothy turned his head to search the surrounding area.
Was he looking for something to use as a weapon? Maybe a stick or a crowbar to
defend them?
In silence, Vivienne exchanged glances with him.
He spotted a pile of coconuts. Grabbing one, he fired at
Seamus’s head. He missed, clipping him on the shoulder instead.
“Get the fuck away.” Seamus glared, but his warning went
unheeded.
Winding up, Timothy pitched a second coconut, striking
him hard in the chest. He launched another.
Seamus teetered but regained his footing.
Timothy tossed Vivienne a coconut. At the same time, they
wound up and pitched. His was a fast ball and struck Seamus between the eyes.
Seamus yelped, lost his balance, and tumbled backwards
into the deep pit.
Footsteps sounded in the near distance. Did people hear
her scream?”
She swallowed hard and then looked down on the man
sprawled out at the bottom of the well. Had they killed him? She scrutinized
the body. Upon closer inspection, she couldn’t tell if he were dead or
unconscious.
Timothy dragged her away, and she threw her arms around
him. “He was going to kill me. You saved my life.”
“Let’s split.” He wiped perspiration from his forehead.
