As we get older, we can look back at our lives and see the significant moments. 

Writing a series for Tirgearr Publishing is one of those big firsts, much like the first kiss, first car, and first true love. Thank you, Publishers Kemberlee and Peter Shortland for offering a contract with deep guidance and support.  I’m grateful you assigned an awesome editor, Sharon Pickrel, who drives writing up many notches. Both women are gifted writers, impressive in what they know, and generous with what they share. In addition, cover artist Elle J. Rossi creates the perfect mood with characters’ likenesses. I marvel at her artistic genius.

     Just when Danker Donahue’s life is calming down, he’s drawn back into the game.  Bizarre kidnappings stun the Big Island of Hawaii. They’re the wildest he and his ex-girlfriend, Jolene Kualoha, have ever seen. Victims are forced to eat a traditional fish dish, and after ransoms are paid, they’re released in a sickened condition.

Seven years before, after teaming up on a horrific crime, Danker watched the woman he loved pushed him away.  Jolene stepped back to allow him to work on a former relationship after his DNA was a match in a paternity lawsuit. When a new danger arises and threatens the sanity she’s clinging to, she’s forced to trust the one person she thought she’d lost forever. Sparks fly between them, and she gives into temptations but keeps her heart unattainable.  

     In the shadow of her success as a helicopter pilot, a troubled woman develops a fixation on Jolene and imitates her appearance. Matters turn dark when the copycat is shot dead.  As the witness, she is pushed into the media spotlight. Threats mount when she barely survives an accident after her brake cables are severed. Will Danker be able to protect her?  

     An old enemy, Seamus McGinn, breaks out of a maximum-security prison and invites Danker to a meetup.  The whole island is on edge with a live feed from the maniac’s website.  The kidnapper joins forces along with sick fans. McGinn trumpets his ‘murders by ice pick’, and it’s up to Danker to stop him.  In a stolen moment, Jolene shows him hope, and he makes a snap decision that will change their lives forever.  Will he make it back to show her?
