#Tirgearr author shares #writingtips for #romanticsuspense or mystery-- take a look at current events to gain readers' interest

If you are writing a suspense or thriller, do you look at the current state of the news for inspiration? If you do, you’ll find readers who are interested in the topic. Be sure your research is accurate. When I wrote Deadly Alliance, ISIS filled the headlines.

If you'd like to see how romance blends into the suspense, Deadly Alliance is currently priced at 99 cents/ 99 pence on Amazons.

Fortunately, ISIS has been beaten back recently but have entered a new phase of resurgence in remote areas of Afghanistan with claims of bombings and small-scale attacks.
In DeadlyAlliance I used authentic fundraising tactics. ISIS revenue comes from taking over profits of other gangs, which I used in Deadly Alliance. Other sources come from oil production, smuggling ransom for kidnappings, extortion, and selling stolen artifacts.

What are their goals since ISIS believes the means justifies the end? ISIS aims to create an Islamic state called a caliphate across Iraq, Syria, and beyond.  Sharia Law is implemented, rooted in 8th Century Islam and mirrors an ancient past. According to a United Nations’ report, ISIS holds 3,500 slaves, mostly women and children from the Yazidi community, ethnic Kurds.
